Outside of ourselves

Father, thank you for waiting for me here. Thank you for the gift of faith, I believe, help my unbelief.

Father, it seems one of the dangers, and there are so many, of these one and two children families is that they are isolated and never learn to see or be outside of theirselves. They spend so much time with MY toys, in MY room, in MY clothes, MY time, etc., that they don’t learn to automatically share, they can’t see the need of another and their first thought is “how does that effect me?” Or “what’s in it for me?”.

We have done such a disservice to the world, to you, in raising up people who don’t know how to disagree and still be family. People who think one cross word means hate instead that someone might be having a bad day.

We have lost family. Please forgive us. Help us break down the walls we have used to divide into MY space, into MY time, into MY toys. Teach us to share and treat everyone as family, for we are all your children. We are family.

If an old dog can learn new tricks, help me help others.

Thank you God for YOUR time, YOUR space, YOUR family, YOUR toys that you share as gifts to me. Help me appreciate and share.

Amen
